The BISSELL Pro Cycling Team to Train in Santa Rosa California

Santa Rosa, California (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

Santa Rosa California will be hosting the start of the Amgen Tour of California on May 13, 2012 and in preparation for the race, the Santa Rosa Convention & Visitors Bureau welcomes teams from around the world who will be training in Santa Rosa. One of the teams training in advanced in Santa Rosa is the BISSELL Pro Cycling Team. The team has been centered in Santa Rosa since the team was established in 2008. They have based every season’s training camps in the area and have been at Hotel La Rose since 2009. The team manager, Glen Mitchell, is a resident of Santa Rosa and numerous riders have called Santa Rosa home over the years. Currently two of the riders from New Zealand, Jeremy Vennell and Patrick Bevin, have Santa Rosa as their home in the USA. It is no mystery why the team chooses Santa Rosa… the amazing beauty and perfect terrain for training and racing.

Of special note about the team, The BISSELL Pro Cycling Team was the best continental team in the USA for 2011 and won the NRC team standings. BISSELL was the most aggressive team at the 2011 Amgen Tour of California where it had a rider in almost every breakaway over the eight days. The team also had the highest placed domestic finisher at the 2011USA Pro Cycling Challenge, Chris Baldwin. Additionally, BISSELL rider Ben Jacques-Maynes has raced every addition of the Tour of California.

On Monday, February 27, 2012 The BISSELL Pro Cycling team riders, manager, director and mechanics will be available for both interviews and photo opportunities. Team members will be available to the media for interviews from 9:30-10:30 a.m.. Following the interviews, the media is invited to follow the team on a training ride for additional photo opportunities. This is a unique occasion to interview both experienced racers like Chris Baldwin, Frank Pipp, Jeremy Vennell and Ben Jacques-Maynes and the teams incredibly strong group of younger riders including US National Criterium Champion, Eric Young, and new BISSELL team member, Carter Jones who has twice been a part of the USA team at the World Cycling Championships.

If you are a member of the media and would like to participate or are requesting more information, please contact Brad Calkins, the Executive Director of the Santa Rosa Convention & Visitors Bureau.
